IRA Charitable Rollover
The IRA Charitable Rollover is now a permanent provision of the federal tax code. It allows any donor who is age 70½ or older to donate up to $105,000 each year from his or her IRA. The gift counts towards your Required Minimum Distribution - yet it is not included in your income. A gift from your IRA provides an excellent opportunity to make a gift during your lifetime from an asset that is often subject to multiple layers of taxation if gifted to an individual who is not your spouse.
Transfers must be made directly from a traditional IRA account by your IRA plan administrator. Gifts from 401 (k), 403 (b), SEP or other plans do not qualify for this provision; however, funds can usually be rolled over from these other plans into an IRA. Contact your plan administrator to initiate.
Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover

- May satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year
- Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
- Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts
- Help further the work and mission of our organization
How an IRA charitable rollover gift works
